Why this kit
Polyfit offers two lower-cost ways to carry plates. The Rucking Backpack 2.0 takes standard 10x12 plates, including Polyfit's own pair. The PL8 takes compatible 2-inch Olympic plates, so some home-gym owners can use weights they already own.
The Standard tier pairs the Rucking Backpack 2.0 with a 10x12 plate. This format is widely available and works with the 5.11 TacTec, Condor Sentry, and other standard plate carriers. The Olympic Plate tier uses the PL8 for ruckers who already own a barbell setup and do not want to buy another plate format.
Both tiers pair the Polyfit pack with a stable shoe, merino socks, a hydration bottle, Body Glide, and a Petzl Actik Core for low-light visibility. These packs prioritize the plate compartment over cargo space, so a bottle is simpler than a bladder.
This is a lower-cost training setup, not an event loadout. For GORUCK events, use the Event Day kit and check the current event requirements. Confirm the pack's published load limit before increasing weight.
Choose the Standard tier if you do not already own plates. The 10x12 format works across the widest range of packs and can move with you when you upgrade. Choose the Olympic tier if you already own Olympic plates and want to avoid another plate purchase.
